Job Designation

The Materials Handler ensures proper and timely flow of all materials and products from arrival until stored or shipped, following established policies and procedures. Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, while following policies, procedures and safety regulations.                

Job Core Responsibilities

• Stock parts in correct locations
• Pick parts from warehouse stock for RMA’s and new production.
• Transact parts from inventory to work orders
• Transact parts from warehouse to warehouse
• Perform cycle counts and reconcile mismatches
• Supply  and transact parts to requisitions
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to communicate fluently in technical terms both verbally and in writing
• Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, with limited supervision
• Communicate and work with other people in a positive and professional manner
• Must be computer literate
• Excel experience required
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
• Maintain an acceptable safety record
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
• Completes necessary trainings to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance
• Experience in Kanban preferred
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required
• Assist other departments with job duties and tasks, as needed

Physical Requirements

• Approximately 25% sitting and 75% standing/walking
• Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
• Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
• Perform light to heavy lifting (up to 35 pounds) from floor, table and overhead shelves
• Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
• Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher (up to 35 pounds)
• Frequent: light & medium lifting/carrying, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling

Job Specifications

Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications
Years Experience: 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills :

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Personal Computer keyboard skills
  • Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings
  • Is proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
