Job Designation

The  Assembler I performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Ability to use electric soldering equipment to the J-STD standard.
  • Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, Apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision 
  • Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
  • Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 6S standards
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Additional job duties and tasks as needed
  • Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed
  • Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned and instructed by Lead Tech / Supervisor

Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education 

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (preferred but not required)

Years Experience: 0-2 years prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment

Skills:

  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery      
  • Capable of performing basic mathematics      
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure
  • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts      
  • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks       
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
