Job Designation
The FAA Advanced test Tech Specialist supports the Operations Function on a variety of technical tasks in order to meet departmental objectives. Acts as professional lead for variety of testing and troubleshooting tasks.performs inspections, tests, troubleshoots and repairs on customer returned equipment, in accordance with rules and regulations.
Job Core Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ instructions for continued airworthiness, services bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, with limited supervision.
Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
Ability to read schematics and understand the circuit function.
Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the component level
Provide detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to Production and Engineering
Must be able to communicate fluently in technical terms both verbally and in writing.
Ability to set up and utilize manual and automated test equipment to conduct test and troubleshooting of digital and analog circuitry
Ability to program and operate environmental test chambers
Experience with MS Office Suite
Must be computer literate
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
Maintain an acceptable safety record.
Maintain an acceptable attendance record
Willing to learn to test and troubleshoot various products as required.
Completes necessary training to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance

Follow written and verbal instructions.
Position requires overtime to production schedules and demands.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
Self-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all work
Assist with area efficiency and 6S improvement projects
Physical Requirements
Approximately 80% sitting and 20% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities.
Lift and Carry up to 45 lbs.
Use hand tools, and power tools.
Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side.
Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands.
Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf.
Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded.
Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling.
Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 10 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Excellent technical knowledge and skills in product repair
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven troubleshooting skills to component level on complex electronic circuits
- Ability to recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options
- Computer proficient
- Ability to record and enter data into an excel spread sheet, and communicate via e-mail and Microsoft word
- Is proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned.
- Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings
