Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Supplier Quality Engineer position directly supports the Supply Chain Department through supplier quality monitoring, supplier interaction, and corrective action resolution. The SQE provides a range of expertise to ensure that incoming materials are free of flaws.  Analyzes risk and develops risk mitigation. Resolves supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.                 

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
•    In cooperation with Corporate Quality functions, maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
•    Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
•    Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPIs
•    Establish specific short / long-term supplier quality goals
•    Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
•    Accountable to prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data to utilize in corrective action responses, countermeasures,     and continuous improvement projects
•    Accountable to refine and enhance products and processes by applying a continuous improvement philosophy, statistical tools, risk management and other techniques
•    Accountable to identify Supplier Quality performance trends and implement corrective actions, including the coordination of those actions with suppliers.
•    Accountable to resolve quality related problems on the production floor and to utilize leadership and team skills to enlist the cooperation from other functional     departments
•    Upload monthly site quality metrics to Vendigital
•    Keep QPulse updated timely per QPulse process
•    Issue and ensure timely processing of supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
•    Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
•    Develop long‐term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
•    Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Supplier Corrective action coordination and in-depth root cause analysis
•    Support Quality Clinic disposition activity. Drive Supplier SCARs.  
•    Support technical process problem solving efforts
•    Champion Advanced Product Development (APD) processes
•    Support Quality function in scheduled Supplier Account Reviews

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree required

Experience: 
•    2 years' electrical experience in manufacturing; mechanical experience helpful
•    4-5 years' experience in a Quality-related position
•    Knowledge of inspection techniques, procedures, instruments, etc.
•    Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, and Six Sigma
•    AS9100 Lead Auditor certificate. 
•    Experience with and demonstrated understanding of AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements

Skills:
•    Solid experience in operational supervision 
•    Solid understanding of and experience in a Kanban environment
•    Ability to multitask and address multiple requirements in a high pressure environment
•    Ability to use judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
•    Excel, Word, Access, MS Project
•    Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
•    Solves complex problems & exercises judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
•    Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; is able to multi-task and be able to change priorities as required by customer driven demands.
•    Experience with Lean Manufacturing and its application to operations
•    Must have Strong leadership and effective interpersonal skills
•    Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS, safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
