Job Designation

The Principal Electrical Engineer leads a variety of complex electrical engineering assignments/projects involving the development, planning, and construction of components and systems. Acts as key contributor in the characterization and analysis of product development.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Acts as a key contributor in the characterization and analysis of product development and ensures design meet product requirements
  • Supports complex electrical engineering activities throughout the project life cycle
  • Initiates improvements to Meggitt products; using best practices and professional knowledge
  • Analyzes customer/system requirements, derives hardware requirements, translates them into an electrical design and performs verification testing
  • Designs a variety of complex circuits to meet functional block diagrams
  • Leads value analysis during the product design phase, while optimizing product development costs
  • Acts as a professional resource for colleagues, and provides technical direction and guidance to other team members
  • Uses specialized expertise and communicates difficult concepts within area of specialty
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications

Education: A Bachelor degree in Engineering
Years' Experience: 10 years or more of relevant Engineering experience
Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Lithium battery technology
  • Ability to act as a technical lead on projects of a complex nature and provides electrical engineering expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
  • Ability to absorb and apply new technical information and evaluate implications
  • Effectively communicates difficult concepts and negotiates well with others    
  • Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
