Job Designation
The primary purpose of the Manufacturing Engineering Intern role is to develop and implement industrialization practices and help deliver customer specified products throughout the product lifecycle of manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, and repair. The role is focused on supporting real-time production for aerospace products.
Job Core Responsibilities
As an intern, your day-to-day tasks will vary. You will report to one of our Value Stream Managers who will direct your daily assignments. All of your assigned projects will be in support of a real business need, with a direct link to our products and customers. This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and make a difference within the Fire, Safety and Power Division.
Job Specifications
Schedule: This is a year round internship position. Work hours are flexible and determined based on school schedule. Up to 20 hours per week during the school year with potential for more hours during breaks and in the summer. Candidates should be local to the Tucson/Oro Valley areas.
Education: Currently enrolled in Junior level courses at an accredited college/university working towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas:
•Industrial Engineering or Technology
•Electrical Engineering or Technology
•Mechanical Engineering or Technology
•Manufacturing Engineering or Technology
Certifications: None required
Years of Experience: 0-2 years of experience
Skills:
- Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
- Problem Solving skills
- Understanding the concept of continuous improvement
- Understanding how to interpret data and apply it to a decision
- Ability to work effectively in the Manufacturing Engineering team
- Understanding of technical drawings
- Experience with electrical test equipment is preferred but not required
- Experience with programming (undergraduate level) and LabVIEW
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
