Job Designation

The Product CAD Designer is responsible for the role of CAD engineering, creating solid models, detailing engineering drawings, managing the drawing files and database, and ensuring proper management of all CAD related software.  The Product CAD Designer will work directly with the design engineers ensuring that all design intent is accurately captured in the engineering drawings.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Manages the CAD software, hardware, procedures, and compliance with all required agencies
  • Creates solid models representative of the design engineering intent in CREO-4
  • Assigns part numbers and document numbers
  • Creates detailed engineering drawings and specifications in both 2D and 3D utilizing GD&T
  • Checks all drawings for completeness and accuracy
  • Works with other team members in support of all product related issues
  • Manages all production drawings
  • Release new drawings to production and completes various notices
  • Updates all database file, SAP, etc
  • Manages the engineering change and engineering notification processes

Job Specifications

Education:  Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience:  3+ years of relevant experience.  Prefer heat exchanger design or equilavalent industrial co-op or internship experience

  • Significant experience using Creo (Pro-Engineer) software is preferred
  • Expereince in detailing designs in an aerospace or industrial market is required and (3+ years) related to heat exchanger design is preferred
  • Some manufacturing experience is desirable especially related to machining, assembly, and other traditional manufacturing processes
  • Structural analysis using FEA with ANSYS is desirable
  • Tolerance stack-up experience
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) ANSI Y14.5 knowledge required
  • Preferred skills:  experience with Aerospace, ISO9001/AS9100, trade compliance, program/project management, problem solving skills
