Job Designation

The Sales Manager provides significant sales expertise to lead regional sales programs and marketing initiatives within a defined geographic area or country.  Ensures profitable growth in sales revenues through planning and deployment. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and company growth.

Job Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for achieving order intake and margin targets in the assigned territory.
• Ensures bids are submitted in a competitive and timely manner.
• Follows up on opportunities and tracks progress of the sales funnel. Prospects new opportunities.
• Regularly visits all key customers.
• Negotiates contracts (with the support of the commercial team when required).
• Liaises with Sales Support & Order Processing to meet customer requests and production capabilities.
• Maintains all relevant information in our Customer Relationship Management tool (SFDC), customer and opportunity information in particular.
• Provides timely and accurate information for budgeting and production forecasting purposes.
• Ensures all bids and transactions in assigned territory are as per Meggitt ethics and business guidelines.
• Ensures customers provide the required information for Trade Compliance purposes, liaises with Trade Compliance department as required.
• Coordinate’s training and marketing activities related to allocated Sales Region.
• Maintains a high-level industry network (e.g., through attendance of trade shows, events, online platforms, etc.
• Key account management.
• Following project pursuits for key accounts.
• Building strategic relationship and coordinate global KAM/SM.
• Working with commercial and legal for review and closure of T&C with customers.
• Managing CRM for opportunity management and customer accounts.

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and commercial degree a plus
Years Experience: 9+ years’ experience in energy industry (Oil & Gas, Power Gen etc)
• Broad Strategic vision and frontline sales focus with ability to meet strategic and tactical goals having approx. 5 Years of experience in Technical sales.
• Technical Knowledge of the System required for providing a Suitable product as per the customer requirement.
• Capable of working autonomously and maintain a regular and flexible travel schedule to meet customer demands.
• Team player and possess strong interpersonal skills to manage The Voice of the Customer (VOC) between Customer and Meggitt
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers, use of other sales/CRM tools like SFDC.
• Knowledge of globally used commercial practices, legal terms, Inco terms, and contract terms etc. awareness & capability to negotiate these with customers when needed.
