Job Designation

The Test Engineer provides expertise in setting up and conducting quality testing. Ensures high quality development of Meggitt products/components throughout the development process.             

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Create test plans, test cases, and formal test procedures for internal projects as well as external customer driven projects based on formal set of requirements
  • Using Requirements Management tool, establish links between all customer requirements and test cases to ensure proper coverage for verifying requirements have been met
  • Execute test plans, test cases, and procedures during project qualifications
  • Provide direction / assistance to Test Specialist when they are executing test plans / test cases
  • Load embedded device firmware and verify proper operation
  • Create / deploy / verify PC image files for use in Final System setup
  • Assist developers with creating / verifying Cold Start Instructions based on system configuration
  • Assist developers with testing and debugging for Live Fire and Virtual products as needed
  • Assist with setting up and configuring systems as necessary in preparation for use in development and qualification testing
  • Perform analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of failure
  • Perform testing for various phases of the design process
  • Work to ensure that products will perform under typical and extreme usage without failure
  • Perform qualification testing to ensure products/systems meet design specifications
  • Conduct functional operation and testing on electronic equipment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years' Experience: 1-3 yrs of test experience or 5 yrs equivalent specific test engineering experience, experience using Requirements Management and Bug Tracking applications, and experience using Automated Testing software

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Self starter
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills with high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to apply processes and procedures to resolve engineering tasks
  • Understands test requirements, scheduling and efficiency
  • Familiar with Agile methodology as it relates to the development and test environments
