Training Systems is a global leader in Live Fire and Virtual training equipment. Training Systems currently has ~400 employees in 7 countries--US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Holland, and UAE--performing sales and service activities with a majority of employees located in Suwanee, Georgia. Most of the production and engineering is performed in Suwanee.


Job Designation

The Sr. Commercial Specialist oversees the contract and agreement processes for UK MoD, Canada, and Australia. Prepares contractual agreements and provides commervial-related advice. Drafts and reviews contractual documentation and negotiates agreements in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements. Ensures efficient performance throughout the product life cycle and the life of the contract, including modifications and interpretations to completion.

Job Core Responsibilities

• Cradle to Grave Contract Management.
• Oversight of Commercial functions for United Kingdom (UK MoD), Canadian, and Australian Territories.   In time will assume the oversight of Mexico and South America commercial functions.
• Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to Commercial Management team.
• Oversees the commercial aspects of RFIs or RFPs, including obtaining necessary internal approvals.
• Manages the Commercial team's contract amendment negotiations.
• Ensures that dissemination of agreements and contract closedown/exit activities are completed within expected timelines.
• Provides support, training and mentorship to the Commercial Management team.
• Monitors and analyzes the administration of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
• Oversight of Third Party Agreements.
• Opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week.

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in related field strongly preferred or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Certifications: CCMAP or CCMP preferred
Years' Experience: 5-7 years of contracts experience

• Must have thorough knowledge with UK MoD Defence Conditions (DEFCONs) and UK MoD procurements
• Must be resourceful and have the ability to work through Canadian law, including civil law for Quebec and all other Federal and provincial and territorial regulations
• Proficient with conducting contractual agreements
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Solid pragmatic problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities
• Able to plan and direct technical efforts to meet team objectives
• Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion; effective oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
• Teamwork; works harmoniously with colleagues, also with internal and external stakeholders
• Key values are integrity, honesty, teamwork, and transparency
• Understanding Intellectual Property (IP) laws, patents, copyrights and IP Management a plus
