Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our organisation as a Senior FP&A Accountant. This is a standalone role leading finance for our manufacturing and engineering location in Stevenage. This role is required to support the business as part of the sites leadership team, covering all aspects of forecasting, reporting and analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversight, analysis and reporting of product development programmes (customer-funded).
- Develop business cases and funding models to identify and address potential issues.
- Provide inputs, analysis and oversight of bid models and business cases in support of new business campaigns.
- Generate, forecast and analyse weekly and monthly trends in sales/revenue, inventory and other financial KPIs to assist in the business’ financial planning.
- Prepare monthly forecast and bridge analysis for the P&L.
- Own the monthly close process for the business unit by working with the wider finance function in generating various journal entries, preparing required reconciliations, and analytically reviewing specific general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation.
- Confirm that book closings are accomplished within an acceptable time schedule.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation is essential to be successful in the role.
- At least 5-7 Years of relevant experience is required.
- Thorough understanding and experience in financial accounting and control processes, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience in increasingly complex roles.
- Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise with changing situations.
- Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills to evaluate financial results.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex information to others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
