Job Summary

This is an opportunity to be the planning and procurement lead for a growing Aerospace manufacturer of composite products in the Stevenage area.  The successful candidate will have a strong character, be able to work autonomously and who has the ability to make the difficult decisions to do the right thing for the business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning and procurement functions for the Stevenage facility.
  • Adherences to daily cadence of standard work task and activities.
  • Attend and lead planning and procurement aspects of daily reporting ensuring data is correct at point of use.
  • Identify and escalate issues quickly and drive resolution in a timely manner.
  • Manages and maintains an accurate production plan in the MRP system aligned to the committed delivery plan.
  • Drives accurate load and capacity planning in support of the Meggitt Sales, Inventory, Operational, Planning (SIOP) process.
  • Drives key improvement activity within the planning and procurement space on behalf of the facility.
  • Manages inventory for the site and the execution of using the wider team as required.
  • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and works with the Customer team to ensure orders are loaded and maintained.
  • Manages requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
  • Manages the sourcing of supplied material for the facility (e.g. RFQ, supplier selection, sourcing).

Key skills and competencies required

  • Proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Expert with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Load and capacity planning experience.
  • Comprehends capacity planning, single point failure and theory of constraints.
  • Ability to make tough decisions and influence others.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability.
  • Can offer both strategic and tactical execution solutions.
  • Maintains composure when faced with pressure or unexpected challenges.
  • Travel within the UK for site visits – Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Eliminates road blocks and creates focus.
  • Can negotiate skilfully in tough situations.
