Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. Our heat exchanger technology has not only enabled our customers to save weight, space, and money, but offer higher duties, smaller sizes, and greater integrity over conventional heat exchangers. We are a leading supplier of small-frame gas turbine actuation systems and fuel metering valves for the oil and gas and power generation sectors.

Our Defense Systems product group includes a wealth of expertise with products ranging from airborne decoy deployment systems to projectile tracking technology is another of our specialties. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Job Designation

The Sr. Procurement Manager leads site-level procurement, S&OP, planning, and logistics activities aligned with Meggitt policies, processes, and direction. Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of complex procurement and material processes from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product. Achieves delivery on time and to the requisite quality standards for all procured parts.  Identifies cost reduction opportunities that support the direct and indirect cost reduction targets and is also required to work closely with the Meggitt group strategy team.  Reduces and eliminates risk and ensures continuity of parts supply from sub-suppliers through sound DLA metrics that effectively link with the wider business DLAs.  Ensures that procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws (domestic/international), regulations and management objectives.

In addition to managing the performance levels and the reporting of key procurement KPIs to site and Meggitt group procurement teams, the role is also responsible for the management of site inventory levels.  Reports the key related metrics in addition to the identification and management of inventory optimization projects required to achieve targeted gross and inventory turns.

Job Core Responsibilities

Operational Supply Chain
•    Develops and oversees procurement strategies aligned with agreed upon site or Group requirements. Determines objectives for procurement performance, cost savings, and associated execution plans in conjunction with site leadership and Group procurement. Ensures proper order placement and expedites deliveries to support site manufacturing needs, and where necessary escalates any major supplier issues to the Divisional procurement team; implements actions to resolve supplier non-conformance issues
•    Accountable for reporting supplier performance and impact on bottom line to the business.  This includes ensuring that suppliers are audited in accordance with the agreed plans and any corrective actions closed in a timely manner
•    Manages risk within the supply chain and monitors procurement procedures to comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations, and company policy
•    Drives the site manufacturing material planning function to ensure the manufacturing floor receives goods on time to drive site performance on delivery.  
Inventory Management and S&OP
•    Supervises the S&OP and inventory optimization. Maintains lowest possible net inventories while successfully driving material to the shop floor. 
•    Reports inventory data to site and wider group stakeholders
•    Innovates measures across business DLAs to drive effective inventory management
•    Management of the overall inventory including raw material, WIP & Finished Goods.
•    Create action plans for all obsolescence and end of life programs and manage those in conjunction with Commercial & Engineering.
NPI
•    Coordinate with Group Strategy Team on NPI Projects.  Site support including supporting project reviews, DLA meetings, gate reviews, etc. Works closely with Engineering to drive VAVE savings through the procurement function. 
Site Talent and Culture
•    Leads, manages, and coaches in line with Meggitt’s values and our High Performance Culture
•    Developing and promoting procurement talent within the Site
•    Manages contractual differences between purchase order requirements and supplier performance manages contractual agreements. 
•    Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in related field required
Years’ Experience: 7+ years of supply chain/procurement experience
Skills:

•    Solid knowledge of procurement best practices and experience in managing a broad range of commodities in a global sourcing environment.
•    Excellent leadership and project management skills to manage multi-disciplined teams, drive consensus, and coordinate implementation of complex enterprise-wide projects, in a timely and effective manner.
•    Ability to develop, manage, and execute procurement strategies that drive financial and operational performance across sub-functions of Procurement.
•    APICS certification preferred
•    S&OP process experience
•    Strong SAP experience required
•    Extensive experience in supply chain management and a successful track record with leading employees
•    Proficient in recognizing and solving complex and challenging problems from establish operating procedures and/or analytical methods
•    Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal skills to drive tasks to completion
