Job Designation

The Senior Facilities Technician, under limited supervision, monitors and maintains a variety of complex utilities and process equipment. Follows standard procedures, requirements and safety policies. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities and mechanical components, while optimizing utilization of Meggitt facilities.

Job Core Responsibilities

- Ensures the effective and efficient function of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance

- Monitors and maintains a variety of complex utilities and process equipment

- Inspects, repairs, services and maintains existing electromechanical and electrical systems; including conduit runs, lights and power circuits, motors, control equipment, light fixtures and panels

- Understands and follows documents in the performance of work, such as safety rules, work instructions, procedures, manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics and assembly drawings

- Maintains necessary records/documents of all work performed

- Understands and references Material Safety Data Sheet, following all safety policy and procedures for handling hazardous materials

- Provides support to the Facilities Function as needed

- Other responsibilities as assigned

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Years Experience: 5-7 years in relevant experience


  • Advanced knowledge of industrial systems; electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and compressed gas
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Able to read and interpret documents, schematics and blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and adapt to changing work requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
