Job Designation

Manage a team of 3 Global Procurement Specialists based in the US and Europe. Utilizing best practice within the Internal Supply Chain reduce and mitigate any risk to Customer Requirements.  Manage and develop supplier relationships through supporting daily, weekly account reviews.  Support Customer calls where required.  Monitor internal supplier delivery performance to meet overall business targets and goals.  Provide cover for the Global Procurement Manager. First point of escalation for our internal customers.  

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Support the development & deployment of the AFM strategies within regions
•    Engage with relevant functions to deliver supplier performance across Quality, Cost & Delivery
•    Deploy risk management practices to mitigate customer impact.
•    Develop and maintain a structured risk management process
•    Develop and maintain good relationships with key suppliers
•    Build and manage a strong supplier relationship with key supplier leaderships to help grow the partnership with Meggitt
•    Understand the processes in place to measure and control the internal Supply Chain
•    Support the collaboration with suppliers, buyers and the quality department to improve  both delivery and quality
•    Ensure deadlines are met and costs remain within budget
•    Support the Commodity Manager in negotiations with suppliers as it relates to cost savings opportunities and Long-Term Agreements (LTA’s)
•    Create standard work for the Procurement Specialists role
•    Organize or lead cross-functional team drive metrics, strategies and objectives while conducting risk analysis and recommending mitigation strategies
•    Collaborate with OE Commodity Teams to ensure alignment to the Procurement Policies, Standard Work, Code of Ethics and International Trade Compliance
•    Personal exposure to upper-level management at the supplier through the management and executive reviews
•    Lead & develop the team with ultimate accountability for team performance

Job Specifications


•    Minimum Requirements: CIPS qualification & relevant degree preferred
•    5-10 years Aerospace experience in a Purchasing, Commercial, and an Operations environment  
•    Demonstrated Aerospace or similar industry experience working at a Manager level
•    2+ years’ experience with contracts management
•    Must have experience with Microsoft Excel (Macros, Pivot tables, V-lookups)
Preferred Skills:
•    Excellent negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Computer literate
•    Experience with SAP or site relevant ERP/MRP demand management systems, Project Management Tools
•    Demonstrated ability to establish credibility, develop relationships, and collaborate with suppliers 
•    Ability to manage conflict across multiple roles and teams
•    Experience with Six Sigma problem-solving and Lean tools
•    Self-motivated, good with time management and multitasking
•    General understanding of Aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
