Job Designation
The Quality Engineering Intern provides support to the Quality Engineering Manager and Quality Engineers by participating in problem solving and process improvement activities with emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and statistical process control. The selected candidate will utilize Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) data to recommend and implement corrective actions and preventive activities.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Analyze defect paretos and identify systematic issues in high volume products. Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and specifically utilize Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to address systemic issues.
- Drive innovative solutions linked with D&P Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) during product, process and equipment design (New Product Introduction (NPI) industrialization process).
- Work with manufacturing engineering to understand the sources of variation; inputs of causes are being identified and variation reduction activities are planned to control them to produce better and more predictable results (output). Deploy Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tool and implement control charts for key processes to reduce process variation.

Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Actively pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited university
- Strong word processing and/or data entry skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethics and ability to drive tasks to completion
