Job Designation

The Division IT Business Partner (ITBP) plays a critical role as the business relationship link between Group MIS and the Division Leadership Team as well as the Senior Leadership Councils (SLCs) at the plants that make up each Division.The Division ITBP works with the Division Leadership Team and plant SLCs to develop an IT technology plan for the Division that is integrated with the overall Group MIS Strategy & Annual IT Plan.  To be effective, the ITBP must develop a clear understanding of the business drivers for the Division, be proactive and anticipatory in their thinking and constantly strive to provide significant value to the Division through the smart adoption of IT technology.

Job Core Responsibilities


  • Collaborates with Division Leadership to develop and implement the Annual Division IT Plan and agree the supporting operating and capital budgets;
  • Carries out business analysis and prepares recommendations based on robust business cases for new IT investments;
  • Collaborates with Group MIS to identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs;
  • Works with the Group MIS Project Management Office on the project approval process across the company and aligns on timing with the Division;
  • Works alongside Group MIS to deliver new IT solutions and ensure solution compatibility with company standards;
  • Works to maximize the positive impact of new IT solutions on the Division.


Job Core Responsibility Cont.


  • proactively serves as the primary IT point of contact to Division Leaders and plant SLC teams members;
  • acts as a “trusted advisor” and provides critical strategic guidance for key IT initiatives to the Division Leadership Team and plant SLC team members;
  • partners with Division Leaders and other key stakeholders to:
    • identify opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of Division through the smart adoption of IT technology as well as to
    • prioritize projects based on business case criteria such as alignment to Group priorities, return on investment, impact on productivity, compliance etc;
  • provides regular updates to Division Leaders and SLCs regarding Division/Plant requests and projects as well as Group MIS initiatives;
  • works in conjunction with Group MIS to deliver IT solutions that meet the needs of the Division and that are aligned to Group MIS Strategy;
  • avoids duplication of effort/cost by leveraging Group MIS services and solutions.


  • Works with Group MIS to participate in the annual strategic and budgetary planning processes, preparing Division operating and capital budgets;
  • Works with Group MIS to participate in pilots to develop new IT solutions and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of current solutions.
Job Specifications


Education: Bachelors’ degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) in relevant IT subjects preferred.

Experience: 10 to 15 years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to different IT environments and business functions, including manufacturing/engineering.  At least 3 years’ leadership experience and 5 years developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios.

  • Strong organization, planning and budgeting skills with discipline to adhere to agreed plans & budgets (delivers on promises);

Working Environment
  • Office location flexible, must be required to travel frequently 
  • Flexibility in working hours should be expected to accommodate the global nature of this role;
  • 50% travel will be required in this role (international as well as in country).
