Job Designation

Under general direction, provides extended expertise in the development of a range of software, per product requirements and specifications. Meets high level of engineering standards per design specifications.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Provides extended expertise in the design and development of a range of software per product requirements and
     specifications. Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope.

•    Captures, decomposes and derives functional requirements to develop technical specifications. Applies software standards
     to architect, design, develop, integrate and test software applications. 

•    Perform, track and control internal project activities and manage external sub-contractors (including offshore verification
     partners). Support other members of the team with knowledge of best practices and safety-critical development. Creates
     periodical status reports for key functions.

•    Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including standardization of tools and processes 

•    Performs additional responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years Experience : 2-4 years of relevant experience
Skills : 

•    Experience delivering software projects, ideally in the aerospace or high technology sectors, from requirements capture to
•    Experience with embedded software
•    Experience with designing and developing Graphical User Interfaces with .NET, Python or similar
•    Ability to work in a team environment
•    Experience with interfacing with external control and capturing systems (Digital or Analog Acquisition Devices, Servos,
     Motors, etc)
•    Experience with software development tools including debuggers, emulators and integrated development environments
•    Strong written communication and verbal communication skills
•    Experience programming utilizing external interface and communication protocols (e.g. CAN, RS232, or ARINC)
•    Knowledge of interface and communication protocols (ARINC429, CAN, SPI)
•    Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
•    Ability to research and analyze data effectively
•    Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex integrated electronic test equipment
•    Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
•    Strong prioritization skills
•    Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
