Job Designation

The Electrical Engineering Technician applies electrical theory and related knowledge to evaluate, test, troubleshoot and analyze failures of electronic and control equipment and provides corrective actions.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and units
  • Test electronic assemblies and units
  • Perform full Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis and solve the problems for electronic boards and units
  • Work in close liaison with Operations, Customer Service and Quality and support them with the problems of electronic assemblies and units and performing RCCAs
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems of electronic boards and units.
  • Work with the Component Engineers and support test and verification of Alternate Parts Found.
Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Technical Certificates from Technical Institutes or Colleges preferred.
 
Years Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience


Skills:

  • Some knowledge of Electronics and Circuits
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment like DMM, Oscilloscope, LCR meter and be able to use them
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting of electronic boards and equipment
  • Ability to explain a range of technical information
  • Advanced knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis
  • High problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to solder standard Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Components
  • Ability to assemble or repair typical electronic boards as necessary
  • Able to set up test equipment and perform board or unit level tests for electronic assemblies
  • Capable of building breadboards of electronic circuits for quick verification of simple fixes
