Job Designation

The Director, Materials (SIOP) leads the Planning function and SIOP process for the Fire & Safety product group.  Leads and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy, in accordance with established policies and procedures.              

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the Planning Organization, including Material Handling, to ensure continuous flow of production scheduling in support of on time delivery goals.
  • Provides effective communications within the product group and with other organizations to provide an atmosphere of cooperation in meeting division and materials objectives
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including sales, program management, planning and scheduling, operations and finance leaders to lead deployment and execution of the site S&OP process  
  • Implement and ensure health of leading KPIs for the S&OP process including execution of the monthly SIOP cycle, attendance at S&OP reviews, scheduled load does not exceed site capacity, on time completion of constraint removal and escalation action plans  
  • Define and deliver on key Customer Centric KPIs, including delivery and inventory turns performance 
  • Manage staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  •  Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications

Education : Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation

Years Experience : 10 - 15  year of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of SAP - demand management, master scheduling, and operational planning 
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint and web-browsers 
  • Demonstrated ability to share insights and coach site leaders in critical S&OP decision making  
  • Strong business and financial acumen to align financial planning and S&OP processes 
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain and operations - APICS certification highly desirable 
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
