Job Designation

Primary responsibility for the development and deployment of the tools, methods and processes that make up the Meggitt High Performance System (HPS – Meggitt Lean Management System), including Lean Management Systems, Six Sigma, and Lean & waste elimination approaches. Ability to lead and facilitate kaizen events to drive business performance improvement. Agility with structured problem solving techniques such as A3, 8D, and DMAIC.

Job Core Responsibilities

  1. Deploy the tools, methods and processes that make up the HPS – waste elimination and value stream architecture in order to advance overall site maturity and accelerate material velocity
  2. Engage with the various site functions to drive accountability for systematic, multi-year deployment and maturity of HPS across the site. Some look across sites and within industry in order to ensure horizontal learning and benchmarking
  3. Establish a maturity development plan from current maturity stage of HPS to higher stages and levels of achievement, working in collaboration with the site leadership team to put in place and deploy the appropriate management system or metrics to ensure measureable progress and positive engagement from front line contributors and other stakeholders
  4. Analysis of 'as-is' current state, 'to-be' future state Value Stream Map (VSM) development, gap analysis
  5. Baseline 'as-is' learning/knowledge/skills/expertise and ensure leading practice knowledge is leveraged across the site
  6. Support the establishment of learning, certification, and a core approach for key tools and methods of HPS elements
  7. Interface closely with the Site HR leadership assuring effective cultural base transformation and change management method

Job Specifications

Education Requirements: Post-secondary degree and 5+ years of experience

  • Experience in an aerospace, medical, or automotive manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to and practical application of lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma/DMAIC, Lean, and/or DFSS exposure, training, or certification preferred
  • Demonstrated appetite for structured problem solving and healthy contempt for current state
  • Process and systems oriented
  • Demonstrated adherence to leader/personal standard work
  • BS/BA degree required in engineering, industrial, statistics, economics, or related field
