Job Summary

The Quality Technician – CMM Programmer, create, validates and operates CMM programs used in the verification of complex composite aerospace structures.  This role will also trains operators / inspectors to be able to operate and assess using CMM.


This role will deploy the use of other advance measurement techniques, such as articulated arms inspection using Faro & Romer arms, lead the coordination of gauge calibration and support the improvement of our measurement capabilities in support of our Zero defects programme.


 The successful applicant will be working on a varied range of aerospace products for some of our leading customers and will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and career. 

Core Responsibilities

  • To create and modify CMM programmes in support of NPI or Production changes.
  • Develop CMM programmes for new products in line with PPAP requirements.
  • Train and develop inspectors to set, run and assess released Programmes.
  • Undertake CMM Inspection in line with Production requirements.
  • Undertake articulated arms inspection using Faro & Romer arms.
  • Coordination of all site inspection equipment to ensure in calibration and available for use.
  • Carry out measurement analysis and improve Measurement Capabilities in support of quality improvements.
  • Raise non-conformance reports and support corrective action activity / investigations when required.

Job Specifications

  • Experience in programming of CMM programmes
  • Good Knowledge of PC/DMIS
  • Good knowledge of measurement principals 
  • Good Knowledge of articulated arms inspection using Faro & Romer arms desirable - training to given where required.
  • Working knowledge of composite materials - Desirable
  • Experience on controlling calibration systems – Desirable
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Effective team player with a can do attitude
