Job Designation

The Senior EUC Engineer role is a key position in the EUC workstream reporting directly to the Global Head of End User Technology. You will be responsible for engineering, delivering Meggitt’s global digital workspace technology services which will comprise a diverse portfolio of technologies, key technology areas being Microsoft Modern Desktop, Microsoft M365, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Citrix XenDesktop), Messaging Services, Application Delivery and Mobility Services.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Designing, engineering, and delivering a consistent and cohesive global EUC service based around Modern desktop and Modern Management. 
•    Part of the EUC team proactively managing the global EUC Services ensuring platforms run effectively, securely and efficiently, ensuring hyper-vigilant support is provided.
•    Contribute to the EUC strategy, collaborating with the Service Delivery, Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Design teams for:

  • Desktop Delivery Services
  • Microsoft M365
  • Email and Collaboration Services
  • Mobile Device Management  and Services
  • Directory Services / Identity Management
  • Application Packaging and Delivery Services
  • Infrastructure Management
  • Endpoints and Devices

•    Full product lifecycle management for all EUC products and services.
•    Develop and maintain proactive 2 way relationships with technology partners and vendors.
•    Create and deliver solutions and services in line with Meggitt standards ensuring services are transitioned into production complete with required artefacts and support materials.
•    Work with teams and cross-functional partners to identify and resolve systematic operational challenges that impact the customer experience and business results.
•    Continuously analyse operations and identify opportunities to improve service levels and reduce cost.
•    Ensuring that technology implemented is supportable and maintainable.
•    To provide technical guidance and point of escalation to colleagues and level 2 team members.
•    Production of design documentation to expected level of quality.
•    To ensure EUC supporting documentation is maintained in line with improvements and maintenance activities.
•    Ensuring the configuration management database is maintained.
•    Able to work unsocial hours when required which may include short durations away from home.
•    Share knowledge and assist with upskilling team members
•    Document and transition of services supporting the wider operational teams
 

Job Specifications

Years of Experience: Min 5 years relevant experience.

Skills:
•    Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•    Excellent customer-facing skills, including critical issue escalation & resolution, root cause analysis / corrective actions, and leading with accountability. 
•    Deep technical knowledge/specialism of the following technologies to “Senior Engineer” level:

  • Significant, demonstrable experience of deployment of Windows 7 & Windows 10 using modern methods.
  • Microsoft SCCM  / MECM / InTune
  • Microsoft Office O365 / M365 / Exchange Online / SharePoint / Teams
  • Active Directory / Azure AD / Conditional Access
  • Desktop Deployment Technologies (MDT / Auto Pilot)
  • Strong understanding of Application Packaging process and principals (MSI, MSIX, Streaming, APP-V) 
  • Virtualization Technologies (VMWare vSphere)
  • Desktop Virtualization / VDI (Citrix XenDesktop / VMWare Horizon View) / RDS
  • Remote Access (Citrix Netscaler / ADC) & VPN
  • Modern Management solutions (MDM / Intune, Airwatch / Workspace One)
  • Active Directory and a multi domain environment
  • Identity Access Management (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory) Inc. Conditional Access Policy
  • Core Microsoft Stack Technologies Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS
  •  Application Delivery technologies
  • Patch management and 3rd party vulnerability management
  • Endpoint – Lifecycle Management
  • Endpoint Management / Protection / Two Factor Authentication
  • Product Management (Hardware, Software, License)

•    Demonstrable experience of scripting (Powershell), orchestration and automation
•    Understanding of culture in its broadest sense and the diversity of a global organization.
•    Ability to think laterally and an understanding of how technology, process, tools and people combine together to provide effective customer focused support solutions.
•    Provide input and support via strategic planning to achieve strategic objectives.
•    Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to be an effective team player.
•    Planning and organizing skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
•    Experienced in impact analysis and technical risk assessment.
•    Fully conversant with ITIL principles and a thorough working knowledge of Incident, Change & Problem Management.
•    Communication and interpersonal skills including listening, building rapport, establishing empathy whilst demonstrating awareness of internal and external issues in a calm and polite manner.
•    Proven experience working in an ITIL environment and adhering to best practice processes.
•    Experience managing a large client estate (>10,000 devices).
•    Strong understanding of infrastructure and information security principles.
•    Enterprise Cloud (Azure / AWS). VMware Carbon Black. Fortigate EMS
•    International aerospace and defense experience (preferable)
•    Experience designing and implementing solutions in manufacturing
