Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Job Designation

The Test Engineer 2 provides a range of expertise in setting up and conducting quality testing. Ensures high quality development of Meggitt products/components throughout the development process and is responsible for the development and transition to production of test equipment for new products.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Responsible for all aspects of testing in the NPI environment including UUT, test setup, outside labs, test plans, test procedures, test reports, etc.
•    Provides significant expertise in the creation of formal qualification test plans, procedures and reports
•    Supports all phase of a project life cycle (concept, development, test, production, in-service support)
•    Conducts complex qualification testing and provides written reports to project engineers
•    Analyze requirements, generate derived requirements, and synthesize test and instrumentation systems from requirements
•    Follow and participate in process and development methods and generate artifacts to support process flow
•    Work across functional boundaries to support systems, mechanical, electrical, and production engineering
•    Designs and develops special test rigs and advises on methods of testing
•    Collaborates with and manages 3rd party partners in all manner of test related support activities
•    Performs analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of failures
•    Coordinates test labs, equipment and scheduling
•    Performs qualification testing to ensure products/systems meet design specs
•    Conducts functional operation and testing on electronic equipment
•    Responsible for the organization and operational activity of the Engineering test lab applying 6S best practice and work status visual factory.
•    Performs analysis and troubleshooting to determine root cause analysis
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Years' Experience: 3+ years of relevant test engineering experience
Skills: 
•    Pressure equipment design and  testing experience required
•    Flow test equipment design and testing experience required
•    Experience with creating test plans and procedures from requirements
•    Experience with designing automated test systems using various sensors and  transducers, synchronized signal generation and data acquisition equipment, and LabVIEW software
•    Applies a systematic and analytical approach to solving problems
•    Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services
•    Excellent ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate well with others
