POSITION SUMMARY
- The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership of Supply Chain Management activities for San Diego, California (Sorrento site) within the Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division (Aerospace – GTFSD) in order to maximize favorable impact on ACIP (Parker Bonus Program)
- Supply Chain Management activities include materials planning; procurement; scheduling; inventory control; employee training and development, cash flow management; information flow and coordination, and asset management.
SCOPE/SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION
- This role will have Direct Reports
- Work with suppliers, site leadership, division supply chain, purchasing, production planners, I/T, and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through procurement to delivery
- Provide direct leadership and management of Supply Chain Functions, including Procurement, Planning, and Logistics for San Diego, which is responsible for procurement, production planning, shipping, receiving, and inventory functions
- Led and managed all procurement and materials management activities, including order placement, supplier rationalization/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price negotiation, and compliance with government procurement regulations
JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
MATERIALS/PLANNING
- Direct responsibilities for Production Planning's manufacturing resource-planning activities
- These activities need to help achieve division sales and ACIP objectives and maintain 100% on-time customer deliveries
- Direct responsibilities for personnel involved with the MRP database to achieve and maintain a high degree of data accuracy, integrity, and ownership
- Direct responsibility for receiving and warehouse resources and process controls
- Responsible for managing San Diego operational inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels for immediate production items and forecasting for future requirements
- Will establish and implement standard/automated delivery procedures for just-in-time supplier stocking items
- Accountable for managing inventory, inventory reduction, PFEP, adherence to cycle count procedures, and the execution of a physical inventory count when required
- Accountable for managing the materials within San Diego, considering manufacturing capacity, scheduling workloads, recommending in-house manufacturing vs. outsourcing, quality control, and workforce balance
- Accountable for managing San Diego’s overall strategic production planning practices taking into consideration short-term/long-term production requirements and integrating materials availability. Will establish and implement procedures for special order requests, engineering changes, part substitutions, and sales market demand for products
- Accountable for San Diego materials metrics and Standards of Performance
- Facilitate and drive Kanban activities and materials requirement planning techniques
PROCUREMENT
- Responsible for all procurement activities across San Diego: utilizing preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, compliance with governmental procurement regulations, and Group programs. Will establish and implement standard/automated re-order procedures
- Will develop crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs
- Negotiates long-term contracts in coordination with division supply chain staff and policies
- Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives, including common part numbers, supplier-managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier rationalization, and supplier quality certifications
- Advise on supplier-managed inventory or supplier-based contracts with customers
- Effectively create and sustain procurement to deliver material and system cost-reduction programs
- Benchmark world-class supplier management systems and implement best practices in the division as appropriate
- Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement, or inventory control functions
- Actively support and implement lean principles at the division
- Provide professional development for all team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures
- Ensure all employees are trained and comply with company policies and procedures
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferred in Preferably in Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline | Master’s degree is desired
- APICS certifications preferred: CPIM or CSCP
- SAP ERP experience is required
- Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality, or operations support function that would typically be obtained through a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area
- Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
- Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within supply chain operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of production technology and/or specialty support areas, including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with success in achieving cost reduction with external suppliers
- Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change
- Preferred experience with NPI (new part introduction) programs regarding procurement and planning.
- Preferred experience in industrial or aerospace sourcing of castings/forgings, complex machined parts, and electronics.

- Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $128K-213K
