Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. Our heat exchanger technology has not only enabled our customers to save weight, space, and money, but offer higher duties, smaller sizes, and greater integrity over conventional heat exchangers. We are a leading supplier of small-frame gas turbine actuation systems and fuel metering valves for the oil and gas and power generation sectors.

Our Defense Systems product group includes a wealth of expertise with products ranging from airborne decoy deployment systems to projectile tracking technology is another of our specialties. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Job Designation

The Production (Team) Supervisor is responsible for Production performance of a team of assemblers and technicians, or value stream, with respect to staffing and resource needs to support on-time delivery, production cost and quality and adherence to the production plan. Production Outlook: Weekly to one (1) month forward looking planning and objectives; 90% tactical, 10% strategic.   

 

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Establish and supervise the completion of daily priorities for the production staff, maintaining a focus and accountability on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity objectives. Daily duties include improvising on daily objectives as plans change accordingly
•    Understand, drive and status daily KPI Metrics and run production floor Daily Layered Accountability (DLA) huddles, ensuring items are escalated as appropriate 
•    Update and maintain necessary records, documents and compliance of production work performed including timecard reviews, approvals and time-off requests
•    Evaluate work cycle and takt times for router updates to meet labor standards, costs & profitability
•    Monitor Line productivity and supply of WIP, labor and material resources to meet demands
•    Manage staff selection, development and performance reviews to ensure requisite competencies and capabilities amongst the defined team
•    Utilizing training matrices to develop cross-training and capacity planning in order to enhance team flexibility, efficiency and challenging employees on new product lines
•    Ensure proper use of equipment, tools and materials in addition to monitoring resource allocations, capacity constraints and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) schedules 
•    Maintain a safe and clean 6S working environment ensuring defined processes and requirements are adhered to and designate training opportunities where applicable
•    Moderate emphasis on Process Improvement, manage and status protocols or KPIs put into in place. Define and escalate inefficient processes, engineering and product line issues for improvements, support needed as required
•    Drive Meggitt culture initiatives and fair employment, engagement policies

Job Specifications

Education:  High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a Production and/or Manufacturing supervisory role
Skills:
•    A basic understanding of capacity planning and management, including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), work scheduling techniques and inventory management
•    A basic understanding of LEAN production management 
•    Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the 8 Wastes
•    Have a basic understanding of HSE 
•    Have a basic understanding of Zero Defects methodology 
•    Preferably completed Behavior Based Safety (BBS), High Performance Culture (HPC) training and ‘Green Belt’ Qualified
•    SAP or other ERP System experience desired
