Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Procurement Manager leads the staff and the procurement activities within a business unit.  Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of complex procurement and material processes from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product.  Ensures that the procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws (domestic/international), regulations and management objectives.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Develops procurement strategies and oversees all procurement and material planning activities from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product
•    Organizes, directs and implements cost-reduction activities to ensure maximum return to the division for minimum expenditures
•    Implements processes to manage risk within the supply chain and monitors procurement procedures to comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations, and company policy
•    Manages contractual differences between purchase order requirements and supplier performance; establishes contractual obligations, while ensuring compliance with laws and truth in negotiations
•    Monitors the changing marketplace and work around plans to avoid negative impact on corporate cost and delivery performance objectives
•    Plans tactics and strategies for negotiations of subcontracts to maintain expenditures within program material budget limitation
•    Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
•    Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience
•    Excellent facilitation and project management skills with ability to lead the procurement team, and to drive tasks to completion
•    Knowledge of procurement best practices and experience with managing tight development program deadlines in aerospace/manufacturing environment
•    Understanding of contracts, compliance and government laws (domestic/international) relating to procurement
•    Working knowledge of FAR and DFARs as it relates to procurement of materials in support of USG contracts preferred
•    Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrated use of thought leadership to set and execute procurement strategies
•    Experience negotiating license contracts with a track record of success negotiating with a variety of suppliers
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
•    High level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
•    SAP and Access a plus
•    Prior experience with strategic account management of indirect spend
•    Ability to develop RFQs, analyze responses, and make recommendations to senior management
