Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Facilities Engineer plans and implements the design of plants, offices, and production lines in order to maximize the use of available space and improve production efficiency. Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction process. Researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. 

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Provide necessary drawings, specifications, bills of materials, purchase requisitions and cost estimates.
•    Coordinate the determining and specifying the amount and type of standard and special equipment required, and prepare cost estimates of such equipment.
•    Request or perform the necessary engineering for the installation of purchased equipment or for major repairs to existing equipment and buildings, and direct work involved for installation or construction.
•    Analyze existing facilities for proper performance, specify necessary modifications, and instruct operating and maintenance personnel.
•    Develop and track long-term capital forecasts pertaining to equipment and facilities and provide monthly reports based on these forecasts and actual performance.
•    Ensure accountability for timeliness and quality of tasks completed.
•    Regularly study, analyze, present, and implement projects.
•    Interface regularly with managers to determine priorities.
•    Interface regularly with floor associates for improvement ideas.
•    Analyze and plan work-force utilization, space requirements, and work flow.
•    Design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
•    Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
•    Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization (operators to staff level).
•    Ensure a safe work environment exists for all employees.
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
Skills:
•    Lean and Continuous Improvement experience (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, Flow, Time study, Pull/Kanban systems, VSM, etc.)
•    Manufacturing experience preferred
•    Previous leadership experience in a lean environment a plus
•    Demonstrates strong organizational skills and project management ability
•    Strong skills in written and verbal communication
•    Demonstrates ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision
•    Strong presentation, analytical, and computer skills
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities
•    Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, SAP; SolidWorks a plus
