Job Designation
The Designer / Drafter Specialist produces 3D models and 2D drawings, and incorporates engineering changes per design standards for various assemblies and mechanical components for the aerospace industry. The individual will support NPI engineering projects as well as current production needs that arise.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Create, change, and check CATIA drawings & models
- Write, review, and implement changes to engineering drawings
- Coordinate with the Project Manager/Engineer on technical design, budget and effort hours estimate, task assignments and sequence of execution
- Create project status reports for product definition releases
- Ensure compliance with established design standards and practices
- Primary work includes designs of fuel systems for both military and commercial aircraft
- Contribute to engineering department delivery and quality metrics
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary. Limited work from home schedule is available.
Job Specifications
- Proficient with a 3D CAD Software preferably CATIA V5 or V6; ENOVIA experience a plus
- Proficient with 2D drawing standards and requirements including GD&T
- Ability to improve products or processes by applying professional and business knowledge
- Ability to effectively apply ASME drafting standards
- MS Office and SAP is a plus
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Good communication skills with ability to interact with customers and suppliers
- Self-starter and independent thinker
- Aerospace industry experience is a plus
- Little to no travel required
