Meggitt CSS or Customer Services & Support encompasses 500 people across 27 facilities worldwide.


Support for life: We’re dedicated to servicing Meggitt’s commercial and military aircraft products, through our MRO and spares distribution operation – that means thousands of products arising from Meggitt’s 25+ core capabilities ranging from fire detectors to wheels and brakes.


Dedicated team: There’s a brand-new dedicated team for sales, commercial, customer support, logistics and operations.
And a new regional structure to ensure prompt service for all our customers, across the US, Asia and Europe.

Some 11,000 people are employed across manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe and North America and regional bases in Brazil, India and the Middle East.




Responsible for project managing the collation of multi-platform / product bids and proposals to regional Customers, ready for customer presentation and submission through the Regional Sales Managers.

The Regional Bid Manager will manage the CSS bid process, working closely with regional counterparts, including Sales, Pricing, Operations and the Commercial team. The Regional Bid Manager shall manage opportunities through all sales stages, until Contract Award.


Specific responsibilities:


• Responsible for Collation of aftermarket sales Bids & Proposals within the assigned Region, in response to customer generated requests for quotation and CSS’ pro-active submissions.
• Sales bid management process - Manages an optimised bid management process, working with regional and cross functional colleagues. Resulting activities include:-
• Initial opportunity assessment working with Regional Sales Managers to determine size, competitive intensity and operational requirements required – making an initial bid or no bid recommendation.
• Value Proposition - Develops the best fit Value Proposition required to win the proposal, co-ordinating with Marketing to understand product differentiators and operations where Rotable Pools or use of surplus materials etc may be required.
• Collates pricing by working with Pricing & Marketing Managers.
• Develops the internal business case, to support the proposal, including internal routing approvals in accordance with the CSS Delegations Matrix.
• Sales collateral Creates the sales collateral required to support the proposal and used by Regional Sales Mangers with the customers.
• Cross-functional awareness Co-ordinates with operations, Commercial and other functions as required, to make them aware of requirements, starting at the pre-bid stage and keeping them fully briefed up to win and bid execution.
• Lessons learnt Establishes and documents lessons learnt on all bids & proposals, putting in-place corrective actions or ensuring best practice is applied across the organisation.
• Training – Trains the sales team and other functions, to enable them to optimise delivery of the prepared bids to the customer. Attends customer meetings with Sales & Commercial teams for larger / more strategic bids & proposals.


Key skills and competencies required:


• Sales bid and proposal collation, ideally across multiple products
• Meggitt product knowledge an advantage, technical or commercial
• Ability to articulate compelling value propositions and to describe customer benefits
• Project Management skills, with a demonstrable experience of managing inputs from multiple business function to deliver professional proposals that meet Customer deadlines
• Strong aerospace knowledge, with experience of collating & using business intelligence.
• University degree, or equivalent industry experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong in use of Powerpoint.
• Ability to work with Meggitt staff globally and across functions.
• Some International travel required
