Job Designation

 

The Meggitt Fuel Systems & Composites, (Airframe Systems Division) Project Manager plans, monitors and manages internal project(s), from initiation through completion for the composites element of the business. Based in the Shepshed facility the PM engages internal resources to ensure project delivery is on time and aligned with project requirements and objectives. The role will apply professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project processes while controlling cost, performance and risk. The nature of the role requires a thorough grasp of engineering drawings and concepts with a particular need for an appreciation of manufacturability.

Job Core Responsibilities

 

      • Plans, coordinates, implements and finalizes projects according to specifications and deadlines, while keeping the project within budget
      • Generates the project’s objectives, schedules and oversees quality control throughout the project
      • Works with other participants to complete project scope, goals and deliverables, while adhering to the budget and timing constraints
      • Creates schedules and reviews timeline objectives with team in order to estimate efforts required to reach objectives
      • Identify, assess and minimises risks throughout the project lifecycle, seeking to prevent risk arisings; ensure mitigation plans are robust and executed
      • Monitors, manages and forecasts project budgets; reviewing expense reports to determine if allocated funds are managed properly
      • Tracks, reports and forecasts milestones to provide status reports to requesting department/team
      • Develops improvements and innovations to enhance performance of the PM Team
      • Other responsibilities as assigned
      • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
      • Represent Meggitt as the customer interface for your projects
Job Specifications

 

 

Education: Relevant degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Certifications: APMP (Desirable) or PRINCE2 Practitioner (Desirable)

Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office and project management software.  Experience of using and interrogating ERP systems is desirable

 

      • Strong, demonstrable experience in project management methodology
      • Possess a robust technical background to understand and evaluate the technical specifications, requirements and capabilities associated with the project(s)
      • Ability to adapt and respond to changes in requirements and priorities
      • Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
      • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel often with conflicting priorities
      • Self-motivated with problem solving and decision making skills
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans
      • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and influencing internal and customer stakeholders is essential
