Our Engine Systems division brings together a range of abilities to support aero-engine manufacturers including Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Safran and Rolls Royce.

We create thermal management components which operate reliably in extremes of temperature, pressure and vibration on the engines and airframes of leading military and commercial rotary and fixed wing aircraft.

Job Designation

In this role you will manage programs throughout the program lifecycle to meet cost, schedule and performance requirements.  Deliver business case objectives for assigned programs.  Manage and work with internal and external program stakeholders to resolve conflicts, provide timely reports and information as necessary.  Manage allocated resources to deliver program requirements. Manage customer’s expectation within the contract scope of work. 
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
•    Management of one or more programs
•    Management of staff allocated from multiple functions within Meggitt
•    Financial control within the defined program budget
•    Ownership of the customer interface for program specific topics

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the interface with internal and external customers for assigned programs
  • Develop and communicate the following::
  • Program Critical Success Factors
  • Program management plans including any fully linked and resourced program schedules needed
  • Required program organization and resources (in conjunction with functional management)
  • Cost budget required to deliver program objectives (as distinct to any price quoted to a customer)
  • Monitor and control:
  • The emerging business case versus the approved business case
  • The emerging program deliverables, risks, issues and costs and report performance to all levels of management regularly
  • Program resources, in conjunction with relevant functional managers, to deliver functional objectives, (e.g. work with Engineering to deliver a compliant design, work with Commercial to re-negotiate scope extensions.)
  • Manage the following:
  • Commercial and contractual negotiations, in conjunction with Contracts function
  • External supply chain (as required), in conjunction with Sourcing function
  • All program risks and scope changes
  • Functional and gate reviews throughout the program, in conjunction with all levels of management to ensure successful delivery
  • Support the identification and development of business opportunities relating to the allocated program
  • Support bid and proposal activity as required
  • Ensure compliance with Meggitt policies ( e.g. ITAR compliance) and process (program lifecycle procedure) and propose improvements to process owners
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Applied Science, Business or related field.  Post graduate degree is an asset

Years Experience: 

•    5 years of experience in a technical field with at least two to three (2-3) years in program or project management 
•    Product development and manufacturing experience with an aerospace supplier is preferred
•    Experience with electro-mechanical, fluid management and/or thermal systems is a plus

Skills and Abilities:

•    Production planning and control system (MRP)
•    Project Planning and scheduling
•    Business acumen with understanding of capital budgeting analysis (NPV & IRR)
