Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Production Planner liaises with Sales and Customer Service in defining production schedules to meet customer requirements, by planning, scheduling and monitoring production schedules daily, weekly and monthly. Analyzes components requirements for specific area and maintains appropriate levels of inventory at planned levels.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Liaises with sales division to determine customer requirements
•    Approves materials, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of workforce needs to manufacture goods
•    Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date
•    Monitors project's progress to ensure it is following the schedule
•    Troubleshoots problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions
•    Monitors production and raw material costs
•    Collects and assesses data about the production and team's performance
•    Prepares reports about production processes for upper management and suggests ways to improve efficiency
•    Defines the required purchases or deliverables by planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of materials
•    Utilizes ERP and MRP in the planning, monitoring, and launching of production work orders and outside process orders in support of Operations’ objectives, on-time customer order fulfillment, and various materials' objectives like inventory optimization
•    Works on a wide variety of complex planning activities where production techniques are new or variable
•    Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements
•    Reschedules in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other interruptions
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: APICS certification a plus
Years’ Experience: 5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
•    Knowledge of procurement/planning best practices and experience with managing tight development program deadlines in aerospace/manufacturing environment
•    Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
•    Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
•    Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
