Job Summary

Design heat exchangers and provide customer technical support. Have a customer centred focus, by fully realising the specification requirements and providing cost effective designs.

Work as an effective member of the thermal design team by communicating well with colleagues from different backgrounds and levels. Have an aptitude and understanding for following proper processes and procedures, whilst working expediently to achieve on time delivery and waste reduction targets.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyse client data in order to generate designs and quotations with minimum supervision
  • Create project/job documentation for engineering handover to manufacturing
  • Work with cross-discipline teams to provide engineering support
  • Participate in technical clarifications with internal and external customers
  • Perform simulations on existing designs to support services
  • Use Lean tools in day to day activities
  • Ad hoc travel required

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Mechanical or Chemical Degree to a minimum of 2:1  
  • Experience in the design and supply of fabricated equipment within oil and gas industry would be strongly preferred
  • Experience in designing heat exchangers preferable  
  • Good understanding of all aspects of thermal design
  • Preferred background in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC)
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Communicating at all levels for both internal and external customers
  • Must be customer service orientated
