Heatric is the market leader in providing Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (PCHEs) and for over 30 years we have designed, manufactured and provided dedicated lifecycle support to a global customer base in the Offshore, Onshore, Marine and Power Generation markets.
 

Our Headquarters is in Poole Dorset where the majority of our 150+ employees are based. We have a second facility in Birmingham which conducts our chemical etching process. In addition to our UK sites we have sales offices in Brazil, Houston, Singapore and Korea.

Role Summary:


The Welding Technical Manager will lead a team of welding engineers, metallurgists and technologists. Provide technical metal joining expertise and guidance, reviewing bids and customer enquiries and provide metal joining and metallurgical support in the development of those bids and enquires. 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct contract weld engineering reviews and identify weld engineering, diffusion bonding and metallurgical requirements.
  • Liaise with customers, engineers and project managers on metal joining and metallurgical matters.
  • Ensure that Heatric meets customers metal joining requirements and if required raise and justify technical exceptions.
  • To lead, develop and coach the welding engineers, metallurgists and technologists.
  • To manage the generation of operational and development documentation related to joining processes. PQR’s WPS and development documents.
  • Review customer specifications and communicate requirement relating to metal joining and metallurgy
  • Provide effective liaison with clients, engineers, project managers and internal departments with regards to welding engineering, diffusion bonding, metallurgy and failure mechanism
  • Generate material, test and inspection regimes for development, qualification and product work

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

 

  • 8+ Years of experience in a welding/metallurgical role.
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Strong prioritisation and decision making skills
  • Analytical and research Skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to senior members of the business
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained
  • Ability to visualise and plan objectives and goals strategically        
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
