Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. Our heat exchanger technology has not only enabled our customers to save weight, space, and money, but offer higher duties, smaller sizes, and greater integrity over conventional heat exchangers. We are a leading supplier of small-frame gas turbine actuation systems and fuel metering valves for the oil and gas and power generation sectors.



Our Defence Systems product group includes a wealth of expertise with products ranging from airborne decoy deployment systems to projectile tracking technology is another of our specialities. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Role Summary

We have an exciting Technical Engineer role to work at our market-leading business, Heatric. With a growing order book, a real focus on 'green energy' & a high performance culture instilled, this is a great chance to join our business.


You will be working collaboratively with Sales, Services and Engineering teams, be the Technical Authority (TA) on the in-service operation of PCHEs in all markets and applications. Furthermore you will act as the conduit between customer’s design and operation restraints and requirements and Heatric’s engineering best practices and advice.


You will also support the services strategy to improve internal and external customer’s responsiveness, agility and speed at enquiry and project execution stages, working collaboratively with the Services Manager to develop digital offerings to aid the transition of Services from reactive to preventative model.


Core Responsibilities

  • Be the Technical Authority (TA) on the in-service operation of PCHEs in all markets and applications.
  • Understand the Customers needs and wants, what challenges and constraints they face and feed back into the business and engineering best practices.  
  • Own the Installation and Maintenance processes and associated customer deliverables. Working collaboratively with Field Service Engineers, own the Services recommended Practices and ensure they are up to date with current procedures and best practices.
  • Own and deliver customers in-service related requests such as case studies, performance reviews and deliver in alignment with Engineering governance both pre and post contract.
  • Produce simple engineering thermal and mechanical job packs to support Services Project Managers with delivering and improving on short lead time projects.
  • Working with the Services Strategy Manager and Field Service Engineers, develop Digital Services that align with existing revenue streams with the target of becoming profitable within 12-18 months.
  • When required, travel to regional and global locations to support Heatric Field Service Engineers with the execution of service contracts.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Degree qualified (Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Heat Exchanger or Thermal transfer knowledge would be ideal
  • Chemical, thermal or process regulated environment (manufacturing)
  • good understanding of all aspects of thermal design, combined with basic knowledge of mechanical design
  • Good technical knowledge of gas processing systems and associated processes
  • Aptitude and understanding for proper processes
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
