Meggitt Job Title: Senior Thermal Design Engineer                            

Location: Poole, Heatric – On-Site

About the role

As the Senior Thermal Design Engineer you’ll provide expertise on complex thermal engineering issues and create solutions to a wide range of technical issues. You’ll be responsible for carrying out a variety of thermal engineering tasks to the agreed schedule, quality and cost constraints. You’ll also liaise with all associated functions to ensure final engineering deliverables meets project, customer and business requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyse client data in order to generate designs and quotations (includes complex / non-standard applications).    
  • Lead technical clarifications with internal and external customers.     
  • Create and approve project/job documentation for engineering handover to manufacturing.
  • Perform simulations and provide technical support on existing designs to support services.
  • Work with cross-discipline teams to provide engineering expertise and support.   
  • Support in delivering training to other engineers within the department. Coach & technically develop the less experienced engineers.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience in a process/manufacturing industry, designing heat exchangers/plant configuration with a strong understanding of all aspects of thermal design, combined with sound knowledge of mechanical design.
  • Preferred background in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC).
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience in mentoring others
