Role Summary

Heatric, as part of Meggitt PLC, designs and manufactures heat exchangers for a global customer base in oil and gas, power generation, and chemical processing markets. Working as a Quality Engineer your role is to ensure that Heatric is compliant with its' internal procedures and certifying authorities to ensure products comply with customer specification, and regulatory requirements.  You will have experience within a manufacturing environment, a working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, welding processes and non-destructive testing and will have a willingness to learn more.   NOTE that this role is site-based at Poole, Dorset  #LI-SJ1

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure that product quality complies with Heatric quality management system, processes and pressure vessel regulatory requirements. Informs Quality Manager of any potential quality escape and proposes immediate corrective actions.
  • Facilitate quality clinics within manufacturing, to ensure the learning from NCRs, audits and the quality performance is embedded using CI tools, such as 8D, problem solving and zero defect methodology.
  • Implements quality milestones that meet “On Time Delivery” objectives throughout manufacturing.
  • Provides technical and regulatory knowledge to include legislation, ASME BPV codes and material codes. Inform the Quality Manager of any issues arising from code changes proposing immediate corrective actions.
  • Conducts internal auditing to identify risk, propose corrective actions for improvements
  • Ensure that the business is provided with the necessary subject matter to review and meet its contractual objectives

Job Specifications

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, welding processes and non-destructive testing.  
  • Problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action and preventative action Tools and zero defect methodology
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to take instruction, follow processes and prioritise
