Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Specifications

The Operational Excellence (Continuous Improvement) Leader is accountable for driving acceleration of Meggitt's Lean Management System (MPS) to achieve top quartile sustainable business results with focus on the cross-functional site processes.  This includes leading and facilitating improvement activities and delivering formal training to build capability in critical lean management system standards. It positions itself as a business partner on the Management Committee in order to maintain and maximize the growth and profitability of the site.

Job Designation

•    Continue to develop the MPS culture of the site at all levels of the organization by supporting the managers and teams by strengthening the SQDIP approach (Safety, Quality, Time, Inventory, Productivity)
•    Support change management in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager by coaching and training managers 
•    Accompany the Site Management Committee in identifying priority strategic topics for the year and defining related performance indicators
•    Coach and guide Process Managers (Commercial, Human Resources, Operations, Program, Quality, etc.) to reach the different levels of the MPS and follow up on the actions undertaken
•    Facilitate the Lean transformation of the site by the realization of Yellow and Green Belt training and the management of the various associated projects (kaizen, transactional improvement process, etc.)
•    Ensure compliance of site processes with Group guidelines
•    Measure and report on performance plans, develop and implement effective corrective action plans to address all relevant areas.
•    Manage and mentor cross-departmental colleagues and stakeholders.
•    Provide updates on the results of initiatives in coordination with local leadership teams.

Job Core Responsibilities

Education:  Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international)
•    Thorough knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing tools and philosophy required
•    Ability to adapt to different contexts and transform organizations
•    Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:  Organizational Design (OD)/Organizational Effectiveness (OE) toolset and methodology; Program Management (PM) and New Product Introduction (NPI); Strategic Sales and Marketing (SSM)
•    Program/Project Management certification a plus
•    Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
•    Overview of how a company operates and the ability to translate the vision into practical action plans
•     Leadership and unifying spirit, teamwork behavior
•     Results and client orientation, no challenge with decision-making
•     Proactive, able to prioritize, find root causes and implement improvements
•     Managerial style turned towards coaching and the development of managers and teams
•     Expert in change management, strong interpersonal skills and ability to convince
•     Solid experience in the management of transversal projects
•    Working knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma tools required
•    Demonstrated ability to utilize continuous improvement to drive tangible results
•    Experience within an aerospace environment a plus
•    Excellent ability to provide strategic leadership 
•    Proven ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems
•    Ability to absorb and apply new technical information and evaluate implications
•    Proficient with time studies, lean principles and successful application of some of the improvement tools
•    Strong communication skills to build interpersonal relationships and consensus
•    Complex problem solving and decision making with a proven record of results orientation
•    Solid knowledge of general monitoring and measuring of business-related metrics and the communication of performance through the use of Microsoft Office Suite
