Job Designation

The Shop Floor Control Manager is responsible for the shipping, receiving and shop floor control. Main responsibilities will be to lead the team to improve the overall efficiency of the traffic, logistics and material movement throughout the facility.

Job Core Responsibilities

• Oversee material is received correctly (physically and with proper MRP transactions)
• Plan and assign work and direct activities in the various inventory areas. Maintain surveillance to assure proper performance of work and conformance with a control system.
• Create/Improve/Maintains process of related documentation as required within the Warehouse
• Make improvements on productivity, quality and efficiency of logistics and warehouse.
• coordinate and resolves issues regarding shipment blocks including credit, quality, sales, export and ITAR compliance with regard to shipping.
• Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control.
• Ensures kits are issued to meet production schedules. Ensures products are shipped as per marketing schedules.
• Coordinate and resolves issues regarding export and ITAR compliance with regard to shipping.
• Leads and mentor of all materials organization members.
• Improve the overall efficiency of the traffic, logistics and materials functions.
• Plan and assign work and direct activities in the various inventory areas. Maintain surveillance to assure proper performance of work and conformance with control system.
• Coordinates weekly cycle counts, adjusts errors in records control, prepares reports, and notifies purchasing when overstocking and dead inventory occurs.
• Maintains and tracks all Warehouse weekly KPIs
• Interact with the following listed areas to develop operating plans, resolve problems and establish policies
• Daily audits to ensure policies and procedures are being followed
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
• Implements visual material replenishment systems per lean manufacturing principles
• Develops waterspider functions to include Kanban management, supermarket creation and material movement schedules

Job Specifications

Education Level: (Required):  Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field  

       
Field of Study/Area of Experience:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment using electronic data systems for inventory and materials controls.

•Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Works on issues where analysis of the situation or data requires review of relevant factors. Erroneous decisions or failure will negatively affect deliveries and customers.
• Basic knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold and Accounting Principles
• Good understanding of global supply chain management
• Effective interpersonal skills required
• Ability to identify and evaluate risk
• Familiar with lean manufacturing principles
• Able to implement material supermarkets
