Job Designation

The Payroll Coordinator works closely central payroll and human resources.  This includes timekeeping collection and tracking of Time off Requests, Employment Verification, input of garnishment information, generating of weekly overtime reports. Payroll Coordinators work in conjunction with and support the human resources department and work under the Finance team.

 

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Prepare and process garnishments
•    Help with weekly payroll input managed by central payroll
•    Timekeeping maintenance and collection
•    Provide support to employees regarding any payroll inquiries
•    Prepare overtime reports and monthly payroll reports
•    Support external and internal audits
•    Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed

Job Specifications

Education: Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation
Certifications  
Years Experience: 3-5 Years of experience in related experience and/or training: equivalent combination of education and experience.
                                •California laws and requirements as it pertains to Human Resources benefit administration.
Skills:

•    Excellent computer knowledge and skills, i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
•    Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
•    Pleasant personality and ability to interact with all levels of personnel
•    Strong analytical and communication skills
•    Conscientious, organized  and meticulous - records must be accurate and maintained
•    Read and understand internal procedures and policies
•    Understand and follow through  on both verbal and written instructions
•    Capable of diplomatically interacting with difficult and sensitive personnel situations using good judgment and negotiating skills. 
•    Strong problem resolution skills and ability to assess when an issue must be escalated to the next level.
•    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
