Our Engine Systems division brings together a range of abilities to support aero-engine manufacturers including Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Safran and Rolls Royce.

At Meggitt, we have spearheaded pioneering applied research and technology programmes to develop next generation turbofan cooling. We create thermal management components which operate reliably in extremes of temperature, pressure and vibration on the engines and airframes of leading military and commercial rotary and fixed wing aircraft.

Job Designation

The Engineering Manager, Manufacturing leads the Manufacturing Engineering Team to ensure production efficiency while aligning strategic goals and tasks with company policies and procedures. Participates in decision making that will have a significant impact on the sustaining and growth efforts of the Operation.     

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs the Manufacturing Engineering Team to obtain optimum productivity, while reaching strategic goals
  • Oversees manufacturing engineering activities and team members to reach business goals and budget
  • Ensures that resources are utilized effectively and drives improvements
  • Reduces costs and improves manufacturing yields, using best practices and professional knowledge
  • Mentors and oversees technical and professional development of the Manufacturing team
  • Develops, implements and continuously improves policies, standards and procedures
  • Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications :

15 years or more of relevant experience
Skills :

  • Strong ability to lead, plan and direct the Manufacturing Engineering Team
  • Demonstrated engineering expertise, and ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
  • Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems
  • Proficient with applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated use of the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
