Job Designation

The position is responsible for the engineering activities necessary to ensure products are built with the highest quality and reliability, in accordance with all applicable requirements and regulations. The engineer is responsible for the design content and documentation across a variety of mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic components, products, and/or systems and coordinates with others, cross-functionally, in the role of project engineer. This includes liaison with customers on service issues and with operations on in-house problems and improvement activities. Generally, products will be a part of engine systems and involve knowledge of pneumatic values, related/similar fluid systems, and various actuation methodologies.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Provides mechanical design expertise to support improving existing mechanical products to achieve higher yield in assembly and test, resolve customer and reliability concerns, and address changes to requirements post qualification.
  • Performs value analysis during the product design phase while minimizing product development costs
  • Provides technical support for sustaining projects and evaluates the requirements and implications
  • Maintains project files and appropriate records of work
  • Acts as a technical lead for a project, providing knowledge and expertise for colleagues
  • Reduces costs and improves mechanical design and development processes, using best practices and professional knowledge
  • Complies with standard design practices and procedures applicable to the aerospace industry and specific to MCS.

Job Specifications

Education: BS in Engineering – mechanical, aerospace, systems, or related field. MS in Engineering is considered equivalent to 2 years of experience.
Years Experience: 2-7 years of experience relevant to the applicable product, preferable in aerospace
Skills :

  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Proficient with CAD and Solidworks modeling
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
