Job Designation

The Additive Manufacturing Engineer provides significant expertise on complex mechanical engineering issues and acts as a professional resource for the team.  The engineer designs and develops a variety of mechanical components and systems for products and coordinates with others in the role of project engineer.  

Job Core Responsibilities

• AM lab scheduling, order management & backup operation.
• Design for AM assistance across Meggitt.
• Execution of AM lab capital improvements.
• AM lab operation continuous improvement.
• Standards organization representation.
• Maintenance of “jump to production” plan
• Technical support of NPI programs and customer interfacing meetings
• Compliance and enforcement with all EH&S requirements within the lab.

 

Job Specifications

Education Level: (Required):  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
     
                           (Preferred):  Master's Degree  Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
         

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
0-2 years of experience in working with metal additive manufacturing and plastic additive manufacturing

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List

• Familiar with requirements of ISO 90001, AS9100, NADCAP and SAE are a plus
• Ability to improve processes or services by applying professional and business knowledge    
• Able to solve complex problems; troubleshooting complex equipment and situations

• Familiarity with new product development practices applicable in an aerospace industry environment
• Ability to assist in all phases of the operation of a metal additive manufacturing machine
