Job Designation

The  AutoCAD Drafter/Technician will provide critical technical support to Facilities Management in the creation, development, modification and management of building record family drawings, site drawings and utility drawings in-line with company procedures and standards. The role requires significant contact with partner suppliers and project organizations. The focus is on providing a professional, consistent and reliable asset information management service to record, manage and provide information in the most efficient and effective way.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for creating and providing Facilities Management with key asset information to support business operations. The role requires expert knowledge of AutoCAD. Expectations are that this candidate can create, from scratch, AutoCAD drawing of the site’s buildings, to scale, including footprints of existing machines, equipment, and office areas.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Create dimension drawings based on established guidelines; ensure readability of dimensional information
  • Manage and maintain record family drawings
  • Minor or major drawing modifications
  • Printing of drawings/layouts
  • Work closely with Facility Manager and operations personnel on designs and layouts
  • Maintains necessary records/documents of work performed
  • Follows all safety policy and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary


Job Specifications

Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field 
Years Experience : 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills :

  • Proven experience of working on a recent/current version of AutoCAD software
  • Ability to develop and prepare layout drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to interact and communicate with staff at all levels
  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Experience in working within a team environment and able to adapt to changes in work requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
