Job Designation

Engineer II, Hardware provides a range of expertise in conducting hardware projects from design phases into production. Creates, tests and validates hardware design specifications based on system or product level requirements.              

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Participates in a variety of hardware engineering assignments, including design, VHDL development, testing, validation and verification
  • Creates a range of hardware design specifications based on system or product level requirements
  • Conducts value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing product development costs
  • Documents and enhances processes for qualification and failure analysis
  • Applies hardware engineering standards per design specifications
  • Documents technical requirements, specifications, designs, user guides, work instructions, test plans, procedures and technical reports, as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Skills :

  • Advanced knowledge of VHDL programming and microprocessor designs
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information     
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
