Job Designation

The Supplier Quality Engineer 2 provides a range of expertise to ensure that incoming materials are free of flaws and function as specified. Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
•    In cooperation with Corporate Quality functions, maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
•    Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
•    Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPIs
•    Establish specific short / long-term supplier quality goals
•    Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
•    Issue and ensure timely processing of supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
•    Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
•    Develop long‐term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
•    Aid Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process
•    Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Parker Meggitt requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, Six Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
•    Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field
Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or similar certifications are highly desirable
Years’ Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience 
Skills:
•    Knowledge of complex Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements
•    Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
•    Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of  engineering
•    Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services
•    Ability to explain a range of complex technical information     
•    Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems
•    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
