Job Designation

The Senior Accountant/Analyst provides expertise in performing a variety of complex accounting activities for financial statements including the balance sheet, statement of retained earnings, income statement and statement of cash flows.  Maintains general ledger and cost accounting system in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); supports sales proposals.  Ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policies and principles.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Prepare Sales Proposals based on RFP requirements provided by customer
•    Support customer and government audits related to proposal work
•    Calculate and forecast forward bid rates for purposes of bidding future multi-year contracts.  
•    Classify, examine, and analyze accounting records and prepare related financial reports and statements 
•    Generates, forecasts, and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business to assist in financial planning
•    Participate in the monthly close process by generating various journal entries, preparing required reconciliations, and analytically reviewing specific general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance 
•    Assist and/or coordinate physical inventory and/or cycle counting.  
•    Perform analysis of manufacturing variances and inventory transactions
•    Perform analysis on manufacturing overhead rates and absorption methods
•    Assist in annual company internal and/or external audits for finance and accounting 
•    Perform other duties and assist in special projects as assigned.
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
Years’ Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in general and cost accounting preferably in a manufacturing company
Skills: 
•    Thorough understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and database management tools
•    In depth knowledge of ERP system modules. SAP working experience is preferred.  
•    Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience
•    Experience with government contracting preferred
•    Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills to evaluate financial results, projections and data mining
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex information to others in straightforward situations; excellent interpersonal skills to drive task to completion
