Job Designation
The primary focus for the Quality Inspector II is to assist in maintaining compliance to all aviation regulatory requirements applicable to the FAA Part 145 Repair Station. The Quality Inspector II inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable FAA/EASA regulations, component specifications and quality assurance requirements. The inspector identifies moderately difficult quality issues in design, process, or other inefficiencies to meet quality requirements.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on aircraft articles at various stages of the maintenance process to ensure compliance with all established FAA/EASA/CAAC quality and reliability standards
- Performs quality inspections, in accordance with FAA/EASA regulatory requirements, on all new components and materials received by the MRO Repair Station.
- Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
- Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items
- Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues
- Participates in analysis of statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established regulatory aviation standards or identify deviations from standards, and assists or directs the implementation of applicable corrective actions.
- Conducts Internal Audits, ensures corrective actions are completed, and performs follow-up verifications as needed.
- Utilizes the SAP enterprise system to issue consumed materials utilized during the maintenance process and conduct any necessary product or material research
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience : 2- 5 years of relevant experience
Skills :
- Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
- Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues
- Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment
- Capable of following instructions and applying processes and procedures to standard routine tasks
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Must be proficient in using SAP and Master Control software
- Experience in using Q-pulse software
- Experience in using KABA or similar time keeping system
