Job Designation

The USM Purchasing & Trading Buyer/Planner provides expertise to a variety of complex procurement analysis that impacts business decisions. Conducts procurement research and analyzes results with an objective of identifying opportunities to maximize procurement and profitability. Secondary responsibility of assisting with day-to-day sales activities.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Conducts procurement research projects and analyzes results with an objective of identifying opportunities to maximize procurement
•    Perform in-depth analysis of fair market value for a variety of aircraft components
•    Develop negotiation and purchasing strategies to maximize profit margin
•    Create and develop long-term supplier relationships
•    Communicates to the wider USM Trading team with recommended components, target pricing, and delivery schedules to support a seamless trading operation
•    Performs cost and opportunity analysis, monitoring and reporting inventory budget objectives for all material relating to USM Trading
•    Firm understanding of key market drivers and risk areas relating to procurement of used serviceable material
•    Assists with day-to-day sales activities
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years Experience : 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
Skills :

•    Experienced in analyzing and synthesizing complex and/or diverse information in procurement for aerospace components
•    Strong attention to detail, highly organized and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
•    Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
